The first English-language whisky culture book ever written by a Turkish author — The Mysterious Journey of Whisky — has finally been completed.
In June, my Turkish edition, Viskinin Gizemli Yolculuğu, was honoured by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards as “The Best Whisky Book in the World.”
Very soon, the book will be available in print through bookstores and as an e-book on international online platforms.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my beloved wife, my dear family, and my publishing house, Epona, for their unwavering support throughout this long and challenging journey.

Last June, its Turkish edition was honoured with the title of “Best Whisky Book in the World” —
and this new English version has been reimagined as a more academic and updated second edition.
Co-translated with my American friend Stuart Kline, and edited as well as authored by myself,
this book now proudly represents whisky culture on the global stage.
As the first English whisky culture book ever written by a Turkish author,
I feel an indescribable sense of pride and gratitude for this recognition.
This journey has been one of passion, hard work, and faith —
and this finalist title is truly the embodiment of that long and meaningful adventure.
The final ceremony will take place in April 2026 in Porto, Portugal.
